EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State softball's Jessica LeFevre has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America District IV First Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). LeFevre is the 20th honoree in MSU history, and the 13th to earn a place on the first team. All of Michigan State's Academic All-District IV awards have been earned under current head coach Jacquie Joseph's leadership.

A zoology major, LeFevre has a 3.30 cumulative GPA through her four years in the Green and White.

LeFevre was a walk-on in 2004 and has since earned her way into the starting lineup as this year's most consistent designated player. Batting .306 this year, LeFevre has accounted for 38 hits - including two doubles - and has scored 32 runs for the Spartans. With a team high 16 stolen bases this year, LeFevre has 52 career stolen bases, good for fifth in MSU's all-time records; she is three shy of tying Tiffany Yager for fourth place with 55 stolen bags. LeFevre was also a third-team All-Big Ten selection.

With a place on the All-District team, LeFevre now becomes eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
